Commitment to Safety
The only matter Vantage Builders takes more seriously than our commitment to our clients is our commitment to jobsite safety. We work tirelessly to ensure a safe project work environment for all parties who may be onsite – Vantage employees, our clients, subcontractors and the general public. Accidents don’t take a break and neither does our strict adherence to accident-prevention and safety procedures.
Safety is ingrained within all members of the Vantage team, from our principals to our Project Managers and Project Engineers to our field personnel. However, it is our well trained, experienced superintendents who are most responsible, as they are the point of contact while on-site. Our Superintendents’ training helps them recognize, avoid and prevent a wide range of safety and health hazards that can present themselves on the project site. Each week, on every project site, the superintendent conducts a thorough safety meeting to discuss any safety issues or concerns. These meetings are mandatory for all on-site personnel, including subcontractors, with a sign-in process ensuring attendance. Each of our Superintendents has received a 30-hour OSHA certification.
In addition, we have engaged Contractors Risk Management (CRM), one of the construction industry's premier safety firms, to conduct unannounced job site inspections on each of our projects. These thorough inspections include an audit, written report and in-depth consultation on the site situation, highlighting any areas of concern. We carefully review CRM’s reports and review the findings, taking action whenever and wherever needed to ensure a safe, secure project site.
Safety is something we continually work on with our employees, and it’s not something that is subject to cost or schedule concerns. We are not interested in safety awards or accolades: we are interested in each and every person getting in and out of the jobsite safely, without injury or incident. Safety first.
